Joey Feduniewicz
Regional Associate Vice President, Middle East and North Africa
With a 13-year history of working with Operation Smile in 15 different countries, Joey Feduniewicz took on the role of associate vice president for the Middle East and North Africa in 2024.
During his Operation Smile career, he has worked in various positions serving the region, from program coordinator and manager to director of international programs, providing him with the opportunity to work directly with patients in some of the most austere and challenging places around the world. Previous turn-key programs Feduniewicz steered include the oral health and global training program, which helped advance the organization by increasing its oral health and program implementation capacity around the world, and the “Surgery for the People” project in Nicaragua, which concentrated on finding solutions for the lack of access to essential surgery for patients in the periphery.
Feduniewicz has B.A. in English and secondary education and an M.A. in education from James Madison University. A Virginia Beach native, where he currently resides when not traveling on behalf of Operation Smile, Feduniewicz is looking forward to spending time with staff, hospital partners and governmental partners to increase access to care for patients and their families.
