The 2017 San Francisco Smile Gala will celebrate the hundreds of thousands of life-changing surgical interventions provided in 60+ countries across the globe since 1982 alongside the thousands of smiles Operation Smile aspires to deliver this year.

Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft. These children encounter incredible obstacles. Ostracized from a life of everyday normalcy they are ridiculed, unable to properly eat or speak, attend school and are vulnerable to a higher rate of respiratory infection as well as other infectious diseases and malnutrition. In too many cases, they face uncertain futures because of limited access to healthcare and strained financial resources.

At Operation Smile we believe every child deserves exceptional surgical care. We believe that all children deserve to be treated as if they were our own.

That’s what drives each and every one of us: our global network of medical professionals, who donate hundreds of thousands of hours toward the care of children around the world each year, and our supporters who are moved every day to make a difference in the lives of children they’ve never met.

Friday, November 3, 2017, marks Operation Smile’s 6th annual San Francisco Smile Gala. Join more than 300 San Franciscans that have agreed to lend their support to ensure children are given new smiles and brighter futures. With your support, how many lives can we change tomorrow?
