Amman, Jordan medical mission
Operation Smile conducted a medical mission in Amman, Jordan, marking the 10th anniversary of medical missions in Jordan. The team of international medical volunteers provided healthcare assessments to 147 patients and reconstructive surgery to 101 patients with cleft lip, cleft palate and other craniofacial health conditions. Of the 34 medical volunteers, nearly half of the volunteers were from Jordan, highlighting Operation Smile's commitment to building healthcare capacity around the world. In 2014, more than 71 percent of medical professionals who volunteered with Operation Smile were from low- and middle-income countries.
