Jarryd Botha, M.Com.

Jarryd Botha is the associate vice president of global finance at Operation Smile, a role he has had since 2022. Bringing over a decade of diverse international experience to drive financial strategy and operations, Botha is instrumental in overseeing the financial health of the organization’s international teams. His responsibilities include managing global financial operations, ensuring transparency and accountability in financial practices, and contributing to the strategic planning necessary for the organization’s continued success. 

Before joining Operation Smile, Botha was the chief financial administrative officer at The African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership from 2020 to 2022. Earlier in his career, Botha worked in investment banking in New York City before pivoting to Washington, D.C. and international development. His experience there includes roles at the QED Group, LLC, Chemonics International, BroadReach Healthcare, Mothers2Mothers and more. Originally from South Africa, this global exposure not only refined his financial expertise but also deepened his appreciation for cross-cultural collaboration and sustainable development. 

Botha was a full scholar student-athlete at Florida State University (FSU), where he was a member of the university’s prestigious swim team. There he received a double degree in accounting and finance, before completing his master’s degree at The University of Cape Town in development finance. 

Botha now resides in Paarl, South Africa.
